Sergeant Justin Dodge

Justin Dodge is a 25+ year veteran of the Denver Police Department (DPD) and CEO of Heavy Victory, LLC.

In June 2023, Justin suffered a catastrophic injury during the Denver Nuggets championship parade, his left leg was pinned under an 80,000-pound fire truck which ultimately resulted in his leg being amputated below the knee.  Despite this life-changing injury, Justin has come back stronger than ever, returning to operational duty with DPD and starting this business.

Justin has a passion for motivating and teaching. He sees in people what they may not recognize in themselves. He describes himself as average but with hard work, discipline, and perseverance, Justin has become an exception.   As an accomplished public speaker, Justin provides motivational speaking, resiliency and leadership consulting, and CQB/tactical training courses.

Justin has worked in many roles at DPD but is currently a sergeant and team leader for the METRO SWAT Unit, Denver’s premier tier one tactical team, where he has been assigned for almost 2 decades.  He has been involved in many high-profile tactical responses during his career in METRO and is actively involved in state tactical committees that advance and prepare local teams for high-risk responses.   He is also the tactical liaison for Colorado State Patrol’s newly formed tactical team, Special Operations and Response (SOAR).

Justin originally hails from Minnesota, where he grew up in a law enforcement family. His father was a US Marshal and planted the seed for pursuing a career in law enforcement or military.  Justin played goalie in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and after completing a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul in Law Enforcement, he moved to Denver to join the Denver Police Department. Justin is a 2nd Degree black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and owned a successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym.

Justin lives in Parker, Colorado with his family.
