Karen Laber, Founder of ReThink Mental Health, PMHNP-BC
Karen Laber is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and co-founder of ReThink Mental Health and Wellness. With over two decades of experience as an EMT-B, ER/ICU nurse, and flight nurse, she brings extensive expertise to her practice.
Karen co-founded ReThink Mental Health and Wellness with her husband, a Police Officer, to provide a supportive environment where Responders and their families can receive care from professionals who truly understand their experiences. Karen’s entire team at ReThink Mental Health and Wellness is made up of former First Responders and Veterans, ensuring that clients receive expert care from peers with firsthand understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who serve.
Karen specializes in trauma-informed care, utilizing advanced therapies such as ketamine, genetic testing, and alpha-stim treatments alongside both traditional and integrative psychiatry approaches. She addresses a range of mental health conditions, including PTSD, addiction, mood disorders, and sleep disturbances.
Karen and her husband have raised two sons, who are now adults. They now share their home with their two dogs, one of whom serves the clients at ReThink as the resident therapy dog. In her free time, Karen enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and all things outdoors.
